Steps to Building a Down-Line in Your Network Marketing Business

When it comes to building a down line in your business, whatever it may be, the first question that comes to mind is where do I start? Who should I talk to? Should I talk to my friends and family or should I talk to complete strangers? I would advise to talk to almost everyone. You want to first find a prospect or person that is looking for something similar to what you are offering. Most of the time your friends and family may be the last people you want to talk to about your business opportunity.People like to talk to their friends and family first just because their comfortable talking to these people. Most people are shy and lack the confidence to speak in front of a stranger. They become nervous, their voice cracks, and they lose their focus on the subject they are discussing. Sometimes it is best to start off with friends or family to learn better how to socialize with people on a comfortable level that fits you.So, you first find a prospect, maybe it's your mom or even your neighbor. You want to talk about the business opportunity that you have, invite them to see how they can benefit from your opportunity. Discuss how they can make money. The first question everyone always asks before anything else is, 'how will I make money and have you made any money yourself?" The best way to answer this question is with the truth. If you haven't made any money yourself hopefully the reason being is because the business is ground floor and just started. Otherwise, I would bring up a testimonial of someone who has made a large amount of money and talk about their situation.Second, after showing them "the plan" ask them if they have any questions. If so, answer them the best you can. Note this, whether you know the correct answer or not, always, always, give an answer. After reviewing the plan they will give you any of the following answers; yes, no, or maybe. Understand that maybe, or not right now, or maybe in a few weeks, all of these expressions simply mean no. If their answer is no, that is perfectly fine. Try not to get frustrated. When people say no you want to try to develop them as a costumer. It is important that you follow up and follow through with that person.In other words, you want to build a friendship with this person. Keep in touch with this person on a weekly basis. You don't want to keep asking them "when are you going to join, are you thinking about joining soon?" You want to give information on why they should join without asking them to join. Get them dreaming. You should know so much about your business opportunity that when you speak about it your excited, enthusiastic, and persuasive when your talking about it. The excitement and intention in your voice will usually sell your business for you.The key to inviting anyone into your business is not to sell your business opportunity to that person but to sell yourself to that person. Build a friendship of honesty and loyalty. Sell yourself as a leader. Prove not only to yourself but to your prospects the person who you really are. You must always brand yourself before you can brand your business.
