Why Joining a Person is Better Than Joining a Business

Let's start with one basic fact: there are tens of thousands of programs out there where somebody is making some money. That leads to one other basic fact that most people in Internet marketing don't quite grasp: if it was the program that mattered, everyone would be successful. If you were a betting person, and had to bet on whether or not a particular person who joined a program would be successful at that program, you would make money over 95% of the time if you bet "no."So, how does a person increase their odds? The simple answer is to join a person first, and a business a distant second. Businesses by nature are impersonal. They have no feelings, make no decisions, and do no real work. People by nature are more social. They work, they share, and they experience both highs and lows. That means that if a person joins a business, with no real relationship to anyone, they are quite on their own to learn it and figure it out. If, however, they join with another person to work a business, they have effectively lessened their learning curve. Two heads are better than one, as the saying goes.Taking this a step further, and to a logical conclusion, a person's chances of success are increased even more if they actually join with the right person. The "right" person for one business is not necessarily the right person for another. For example, I personally would be the wrong person for anyone to join a health and wellness business with. That's not a statement about the health and wellness business as a whole. It's a statement about me. I'm just not interested in it, and if you joined with me in one, my lethargy toward that business would show.So what makes a person "right?" I think there are four things that you should look at.1) Someone who is not so busy with their tens of thousands of downlines that they are too busy to give you personal attention when you need it.2) Someone who is passionate and committed to the particular business you are looking at. The LAST thing you want is to join a business and then get hit up with another "world's greatest business" before you even get off the ground.3) Someone who uses some kind of duplicatable system. By that, I don't mean you get a replicatedcompany website like everyone else. I mean someone who can get you a complete system that garners attention, captures leads, and follows up for YOU and not for the company.4) Someone with whom you have some kind of connection outside of the business. That might be family, location, interests, hobbies, or whatever. If you have nothing to talk about except business, your relationship will never grow into something either of you values, and certainly will produce no loyalty on either side. You want to be successful? Find the right person who is doing the right business for you, who has time for you and a system you can use to build your business and help the people you bring in also.
