The Trump Network - A Good Business Or a Lot of Hype?

Almost everyone in business knows the name Donald Trump. From his real estate holdings, to the television show The Apprentice, he has been in the public eye for years. Let's take an unbiased look at an MLM company that bears the name of the man who made "You're Fired" a "national catchphrase"The Good:When a celebrity like Donald Trump brands a company with his name, many people will stand up and take notice, however this is not the first MLM company he has been associated with. Most recently he has been a paid sponsor with ACN, (the American Communications Network), a telecommunications MLM. You may have seen their Video Phone on an episode of The Apprentice last year.The Trump Network is making inroads into the health and wellness arena with a home testing kit (called PrivaTest ) that identifies exactly what vitamins you really need. Their product that will be a pharmaceutical grade of "customized" nutrients identified specifically for each person.I am not a doctor, so I will not "professionally" comment on the health benefits of customized vitamins and supplements, but a lot of people are "talking up a storm" about this concept. Especially with the Health Care reform on the front page of most major newspapers, perhaps this is an idea that "arrived just in time"The Bad:When you look at the massive success of Donald Trump, and the businesses he's created, you expect everything to be "top shelf. The Trump Network web site sure looks good, but the distributors still get the same old "company replicated" web site. That will mean you will need to put up your own, personal, landing page to drive traffic to it. This is not really a bad thing, I just expected a little better.Also their dedicated "success system", complete with a workbook CD, and DVD, still directs you to put this information in front of "friends and family" Come on Mr. Trump, you didn't build your fortune on the backs of your friends and family, do you really expect the distributors you are luring into you business to do in on theirs?Here is a new, upscale company, with a HUGH corporate image, touting a 22nd century product, and being marked with 19th century methods!In Conclusion:The Trump Network may have a massive start, with a well known star, but it's not perfect. You can easily overcome its shortfalls by getting your own web site and getting some professional market training. With these two items in hand, maybe someday you can tell your current boss, "You're Fired."
