If you don't take it seriously, internet marketing will be a failure.There has been a lot of hype being heard about Internet Marketing being the next huge thing...and odds are if you've put any time into searching for ways to work from home, then you have not only heard about it, but you have probably given some thought into actually trying to do it.You also have probably seen programs available on the internet, or maybe even some hard cover books, promising you instant results and a huge income (often times residual) that you can earn, all from the comfort from your home office. These "simple and easy to learn" methods to internet marketing being offered make everything seem like a breeze.Based on my past experiences, let me tell you what you can expect from internet marketing...the truth...First things first, you need to expect that you are going to have to work hard. Making money online isn't easy at all, and if you go into it thinking it is going to be your only source of income, you may need to give that some second thoughts. Like any other business, it can take some time to get things up and running. Learning all the techniques is the first step....applying it is the next step. Those two do not go hand in hand and there is definitely going to be a learning curve.This is the exact opposite of what all these "internet marketing experts" will tell you...You will be promised instant results, or results within the week, or something like that...The people who are successful in the first week are rare. It can happen, but do NOT expect it to.You can also expect to be completely confused and lost for a period of time early on. It doesn't matter who is talking to you,, or who teaches you what, you will not completely comprehend what you've just been taught the first time through. With anything else repetition is key.I compare learning internet marketing being similar to learning long division all over again. Yes, being a good salesman is important, and yes, that is a trait that comes naturally to some people, but goes so much beyond that.Finally, I promise you that with internet marketing, you will, at some point early on in the process, can expect to be discouraged. No matter what I say, I know that many people will still have the thought that maybe they are different...That maybe they can overcome the odds and start off earning a ton of money right away.If you do decide to get into internet marketing, make sure to give it a fair chance. I've had many a moments where I wanted to give up, and not necessarily because anything bad occurred but simply because I wasn't obtaining the success as quickly as I expected.Internet marketing is not easy. It's hard on a person mentally as well as emotionally, and it requires you to put in some hard work, time and energy. It is a job, like any other, and is not a cakewalk. Stick with it, gain a mentor, and use the proper techniques. Stay persistent and work hard and success will come.
