Making Sense of Outrageous MLM Claims

I get messages daily with offers for opportunities or training programs. Most of them are pretty outrageous! Why?
Time limits
Income claims
Easy-to-do claims
Here is an example of one offer I got today: "only 1.2 million will be invited in the US." Limited time offers are supposed to create urgency. If you don't get in now, you'll be left eating my dust. What about time for due diligence? Oh no, they don't want that! If you put their opportunity under a microscope of critical thinking, I bet you wouldn't like what you saw!But here's the thing that really got me about this offer. A real, bonafide MLM company will continue to grow over time. The company should want that, since it should make them more money, right? Why in the world would any sane management team limit the size of their company? And what about the last people to get in, the ones at the bottom of the heap when they cut off the growth? Where is their income opportunity? Ridiculous! If someone tells you that you must get in to an MLM now to make good money, RUN! They are not planning to be around long. This will not be a long-term residual income maker for you.Another limited time offer I got was for a training program. I got a few different versions for the same program, but several of them said if you don't buy it now, it will be gone forever. Now, if you have a great product that people are willing to buy, why would you EVER stop selling it? I recently bought a book that was published 4 years ago, because the information is still good. The only reason you can't sell information forever is that some of it gets "dated." I get the fact that training on Internet marketing needs to be updated sometimes. But saying it's only good for 24 hours? Ridiculous!Another one I got made a lot more sense. They are offering a reduced price, and after the time limit the price goes up. That is a traditional business approach, like offering coupons or new customer specials or special event discounts. This is the only really legitimate type of limited time offer. In case you don't know, specific income claims are illegal. It's called "enticement." So if you get an offer that says something like "make $20,000 in 6 months," RUN.Claims that something is easy or automatic may not be illegal, but think about it. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. If they haven't been around long enough to establish a track record (2 years is a good ballpark number) stay away or risk wasting time and money on something that won't last.Serious business builders see these offers for what they are. How serious are you?
