MLM Lead Generation - The Network Marketing Curse

MLM lead generation is network marketing's hidden curse. How the heck are you supposed to get leads? The first round usually goes to the warm market. Friends, family, your dog. You know, the usual answer. Well what if that just doesn't cut it? What if Rover isn't interested? You just blew through your warm market and now you are stuck. In MLM, lead generation is the elusive network marketing pot of gold.Why do network marketers fail at such a high rate? Most sponsors genuinely care for their reps. Usually they are friends or family of some kind. They do not want to see you fail and they work their tails off to help their downline succeed, yet few rarely do. This is because most people involved have no clue how to generate their own leads. First, network marketers mistakenly believe that they are in the selling business. The problem is they can't sell and people don't like to be sold too. Amazingly, however, people love to buy!So, what is the solution? Stop selling, don't be duplicable, and develop a lead generation system so you have someone to talk to. The business is not called network selling, it is called network marketing. Network marketer's need to be true entrepreneurs; they must learn how to first market themselves and get leads, then the sales and legacy organizations will follow. This requires investment in learning new ways applicable to the 21st century. The key is not to bother Uncle Phil until he joins or never returns your call; the key is to market your product or opportunity to those people who actually want it. This requires thought and research.Amazingly, amidst all of this dismal failure some network marketers actually sponsor new reps daily and a have steady supply of people lined up to partake in their opportunity. These are entrepreneurs who think outside the box, leverage all of the tools available, and have a solid lead generation system in place. Most importantly they use their most valuable asset they have which is located right between their ears!Network marketing is not dead in the 21st century. In fact, with the advent of the internet generating MLM leads has never been easier. Network marketing represents a viable business model that empowers the individual and allows them to take control of their circumstances and build the life they truly want for themselves and their families. To be successful network marketers must realize that this is a business, not a job, and they must invest the time and resources it requires to learn how to develop a lead generation system that will allow them explode their network marketing businesses in the 21st century.
