Network Marketing in a Recession - What's the Real Appeal of Network Marketing?

More than ever, people today are looking for a 2nd income. Whether is to fund a vacation, the college tuition, or just to "make ends meet"; today's economic times are pushing more and more people to find additional income. So what makes Network Marketing so appealing? The Boss:Basically you are the boss. You decide when it's time to work, and when it's time to "goof off." There's no time clock, and with the advent of the Internet, technology has allowed us to work around the clock. The Company: Can you remember the last time you went for an interview. Well, instead of the company interviewing you, you get to interview the company. If you don't like the company, you can "walk out the door "and find another one.The People:Because you are working with your prospects via the Internet, you may go through life never meeting any of them. You don't have to dress to impress them, as you may be conduction business for the comforts of your living room, den, or even a desk in your bedroom. A "dress up" day may actually mean getting up and getting fully dressed. The Job:The job centers around you having a product (or service), and making this product available to those who have a want, need, or desire for it. In most cases you are "buying" the product from the Company, and reselling it, or getting a commission for having people purchase it directly. Many companies will also pay you a fee for finding new business people for them, and quite possible you will get an override on the sales that make.Sounds Too Easy:For most people, Network Marketing is very easy. If you have a good personality and like working with people, then it could be your first job where you can honestly say "I love my job". However this is one major "flaw" with this dream. The Competition:With the thousands of other people getting into this business, and only so many dollars available to be spent, those that take this business are seriously are developing a very sophisticated skill set. They actively seek training companies who will teach the mechanics, and psychology, of Network Marketing.Your competition is not only similar products, but better skilled marketers. In Conclusion:Nothing is perfect. However, for an outgoing person who wants to be their own boss, and understands it is going to take a little time to learn a new skill set, this could be a job that is "made in heaven"
