MLM Mistakes - What Are the 3 Most Common Mistakes Made by New Network Marketers?
In today's economic environment, many people are turning away from "big company" employment and are trying venturing into the small business arena. Multilevel Network Marketing (MLM) is becoming a very popular option with these new entrepreneurs.Below are 3 common mistakes made by new MLM business people? While none of these errors is catastrophic in nature, they can all lead to a "less than profitable" business ventureLove and Us The Product:When representing the company you must be 51% more enthusiastic about your products and services than your prospect. It is an absolute must that you have your own, personal testimonial on how well the product performs and people want to "see" that excitement in your voice when you talk about your product. Can you imagine someone who is marketing natural dog products who does not own a dog?Understand - Those Business Opportunity Leads Stink:Almost every company will provide some "business opportunity" leads to new associates. Calling those leads can be one of the most damaging actions a new marketer can take. Most of those leads have been given to hundreds of new marketers before you got them, and the people on the other end of the phone are tired of taking those calls. Most new marketers, after dialing 200 of these leads and getting 200 rejections, will get a great sense of depression about their new business, especially bad if they had to pay for those leads. The only "saving grace" would be if the new marketer understands that this is a training exercise to practice his new prospecting script. If he gets even 1 person somewhat interested, he should feel motivated. This may even result in the marketer getting a "tough skin" when it comes to rejection. Remember, this is the practice field.Leave Your Friends and Family Alone:So many companies have great 22nd century products, yet their marking methods are light years behind. We can understand their reluctance to invest time and money into a new marketer, as there is a 96% drop out rate in the first 90 days. However it's simply unfair to those "family and friends" to be faced with these "opportunities" when they have absolutely no interest for those products and services.Instead, reach out and find a good, professional network market training program that will help your grow your business. Most definitely you will want one that leverages technology, and gets you on the internet. Be sure to ask questions and understand how they will put you in from of those people who do have a want, need, and desire for your products and services. In Conclusion:All marketers need to understand and use their products, throw those leads away, and get some professional training to help grow their business. These three simple steps can help any marketer get on the road to success.

Are You Afraid Enough?
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. - Anais Nin (1903-1977) WriterWhat motivates us to change? Dissatisfaction? Maybe. Extreme fear? Maybe. Most likely, however the motivation is that we are so uncomfortable or so afraid in our current situation, that we will do anything, including change.Change is difficult for almost all of us and sometimes it takes a lot to convince us that something should change. When we are looking at a business opportunity in multilevel marketing, particularly if we are thinking this could be our new full-time job, what makes us decide to take the chance? How uncomfortable would you have to be to make a change? Maybe you have already started in a new business, things are not going well, and you know you need to change. How bad would things have to be before you decided to change?Maybe you have put off participating in the training opportunities that might be available to you through your company. How many calls do you have to mess up before you get tired of messing up calls? How much money do you want to spend before you start really making money? How bad to things really have to get before you are willing to change? Wouldn't participating in the training be a lot less painful than making all the mistakes?Maybe you don't want to pick up the phone. How much does your business have to falter before you get up the courage to actually pick up the phone and make a call? How dissatisfied are you with the way things are going? Maybe now is the time to make your move. Picking up the phone might be less painful that the stress you are going through thinking about it.Why would you want to wait until things got so painful that you feel like you have no other choice? If you have waited that long, why not ease your pain and do what you need to do? Making the changes and doing what you need to do can't be any more painful that what you are putting yourself through right now.The business is there to make your life better. You started in the business to help you achieve some goal that you set when you first started in the business. Use your fear to make the changes you need to make and enjoy the success you are looking to achieve.Copyright (c) 2010 Soaring Eagle Companies LLC

The Importance of Product Sampling in MLM
There is a good reason the warehouse clubs like Sam's and BJ's sample products on a regular basis. They sell more when they do this! When marketing products that people will eat or drink, I find the most common question they ask is, "how does it taste?"How can you sample your MLM products to prospective customers?
Tasting events
Giving away samplesTasting events have traditionally been done as "home parties." I have found that it can be difficult to get people to show up for these. So many people these days have 2 jobs, or they need to be home with their kids and have nobody to watch them. And I am seeing many people these days who babysit their grandchildren because their children can't afford to pay for daycare. One approach I recently heard for inviting people to a home party, is to call it your "grand opening." You tell your friends and neighbors that you are starting a business and invite them to your grand opening. At the event, you have products available for them to sample. Do not serve other refreshments or get too fancy, just let them taste and provide information for them to take away. You can also do tastings at other events. If you have a booth at an event you could have some products there, ready to taste. If you have found a convenience store owner who wants to carry your product, set up an event there for people to taste the product and help your new distributor get some business.Another way to get people to try your products is to give away samples. With some products, the taste is not an issue or it's not the only issue. If you sell supplements that should help people feel better, they may not see a difference until they have used the product for several days. If you sell an energy drink, they might want to see how it makes them feel over time during the day (did they feel jittery, how long did the energy last, did they crash when it wore off.) So if your company packages products in a way that you can give a small supply away, you might get a new customer this way.Two rules apply when giving away product:
Make sure they actually want to try it
Make sure you have their contact information to follow upI have been making up small gift bags with an 8-day supply of a couple of products. I purchased some raffle tickets at the dollar store and I have a little basket with me. There are a couple of small group meetings sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce held monthly. I ask who wants a chance to win (so I know they want to try the product), I put in a number for each person, and I draw a number. Then I make sure I have the business card of the person who won and I follow up in 8 days.I also have a couple of products that I can sample which the person can assess with just one use. I give those away and check back to see how they liked it.You can also do this with friends of course, or people you meet in other settings. Just make sure they really want to try the product, you know how to reach them, and they are willing to give you feedback.Happy sampling!

3 Killer Top Home Based Businesses
Thoreau once remarked that "No man flies too high if he flies with his own wings."This is especially true of home based businesses in recent years. Before, you had to rely on mail outs, door to door sales or have so-called parties all over to drum up business. To work from home required years of effort. Frequently, these businesses would die out quickly as people grew tired of hosting the parties. With the advent of the internet, the world is at your disposal. The largest market that has ever existed is at your fingertips and there is no price of admission! Here are the 3 top home based businesses. Any of these will allow you to work from home.1. Build an internet affiliate business. This involves setting up a small web site, attracting visitors to it or buying advertising on the web and selling something to these visitors. The beauty of this system is that you are an affiliate only. You do not have to create, manufacture, stock or ship anything. Someone else does that. All you are is basically a sales organization of your own creation. What you sell is up to you. People have made fortunes from selling everything from ebooks to bulldozers online. There is no charge to becoming an affiliate.2. You can create and run your own online store. There are many ways of doing this, but the simplest is by becoming an affiliate like the step above and then creating a virtual store with the help of the company you are affiliating with. Probably the greatest one is Amazon.com. They will help you set up anything from a virtual bookstore to selling almost anything. This takes a bit of trial and error, however. Training is provided free. It, also, is a great opportunity and an easy way to work from home.3. Another excellent home based business is to become an eBay dealer. You can either buy and sell or just use eBay as a way to bring people to your e-store from steps 1 or 2. eBay has many rules and regulations regarding this. Read all their guidelines and policies. Ask them many questions so that there will be no mistakes in what you do. They are a huge organization with plenty of potential for someone ambitious and not afraid of work. Those are the 3 top home based businesses. The internet is a river of gold. The only thing determining whether you walk away from it with just wet feet or buckets of gold is your personal ambition.
