There's No Such Thing As Luck in MLM

Over the years I've had people tell me that I just got lucky. I've also had people tell me that they are not lucky when it comes to MLM.I actually do not believe there is luck involved when it comes to your own network marketing business.To start, I believe you need to choose a company that fits you. If you are not a cook, then don't join a company that sells kitchen products. If you are not a craft person, then don't join a company that sells rubber stamps or scrapbook supplies. Choose a company that sells products you'll use. When you walk into my house, it's easy to know what I sell. I have products all over my house and use them regularly. I very recently had someone approach me about joining a jewelry company. She went on and on about what a great opportunity this was. I don't wear jewelry. Not only am I not looking for another company to join, I also don't wear jewelry. This is not a match for me.Next, I believe you need to have a desire to build a business. It doesn't matter if you're opening a new pizza place or if you've joined an MLM company, you need to have a desire to make this work and make this grow. It's not about luck, it's about desire to make it happen. Not everyone has this desire. Over the years, I've met many people who said "it didn't work" when speaking about an MLM opportunity they "tried." They told me they work full time and they have a few kids. They also could tell me every episode of their favorite t.v. show. This person did not have a desire to build a business. As I said, not everyone does.You have to have a marketing plan or marketing strategy. People will not bang down your door to buy your products or join your team. You need to put yourself and your products out there. People need to know you exist. I have blogs, belong to online communities, chat on social media networks, have signs on my car, hold local fundraisers and just in general make it a point to let everyone know what I do. I am contacted regularly with people saying, "I saw your ad", or "I'm the one you spoke to in the community." People find me because I put my name and my products out there on a regular basis.Finally, I believe you need to constantly take steps to learn and grow. When I started in MLM, the internet didn't even exist. Yes, I'm aging myself here. I went door to door almost daily and I placed ads in newspapers and magazines across the country. Once the internet became another way to market, I wanted to learn all that I could learn. I read books, took classes and subscribed to blogs and newsletters. Life changes and new ideas are introduced. I've read entire books on the best ways to send emails. I've read entire books on how to answer your telephone and the message you're giving others when you answer. A mentor once told me that I needed to invest at least ten minutes each and every day reading something that would benefit my business. He told me that anyone could find a spare ten minutes per day. Doing this each and every day would give me three hundred minutes or four hours per month of new knowledge. What I used to do when I first learned this trick was to find a book and read for ten minutes each day. I'd then write up some kind of forum post or training for my team based on those ten minutes of learning. I even surprised myself at how much could be learned in just ten minutes per day.Succeeding in MLM really is not about "luck." It's about desire and choices.

Your mentors or your up line at times really doesn't give two hoots if you succeed or not, the just don;t want you to fail because if you do they'll lose out on residual commissions.At times when you join a business you'll be the first person on there down line, And at times they will be very inexperienced so they won;t really no what to say or how to market themselves. So the down line becomes more depressed and then they regress to old school tactics to begin marketing there business.When that doesn't pull through which 97% of the time it doesn't, then they'll quit. A hand full of us that believes in the industry will continue to suffer until they've reach that paradigm shift. But if 97% of those people that has failed, followed the two word formula in the beginning then i believe that the infamous 97% percentage rate would be lower.The two word formula is "Network Marketing" if most people in the beginning of they're careers would just network with like minded people and then market ti them on the back end then they would be successful. First talk to people, if you're on social media sites such as myspace Facebook and twitter, then you utilize these site to build your network, once you have a steady flow of people talking to you on a daily basis, i mean genuinely talking to you like friends not prospects then you would be fine, there would not be a need for frustration, and once they grown to like you and trust you, You can then market to them, they'll of course ask you about your endeavors and also about what you do and where you work, and you'll just simply tell them I'm a network market and involved in "XYZ" business. If it peaks there interest then they'll join, and trust me statistics show that people don't join businesses they join people, so if you're great person that's always there for a person's best interest, then you'll be generating leads in no time.Follow the formula First "Network" then "Market" if you follow just as it's stated then you'll be on you're way to be a picture on your companies success stories.

How Am I Supposed to Build My Network Marketing Business If I Cannot Advertise?

Well, I want to put network marketers at ease. The reason most companies put it in their policy and procedures is that they do not want someone tarnishing their names with inaccurate advertising. I was just in a conversation with a gentleman in a company and they were told by their company that you could not contact cold market. Now, in theory, I will take and say that what they don't want someone going out their and blasting to the world with spam messaging or emails to become part of the company. Now, that would get people upset at the company, and they really do not know enough about the company except someone was blasting info on it, and it ticked people off that did not care about the company.Now, let us say your name is Joe Smith, and you were screaming I am Joe Smith and you love the color blue and all the homes should be painted blue in Chicago. Now, many people would think that you need to be committed to a mental hospital. Now, maybe you also scream that you love Glidden paint. Now, the people hearing you may think you are with Glidden. Now, some gangs in Chicago hear this, and they start to paint homes in Chicago blue in the middle of the night. I would imagine that it would hit the news, and the news media would want to talk to Glidden to find out who this guy from their company was, and why Glidden started painting homes of those who did not want it, painted them blue? What if someone decided to sue Glidden? Now, this could be real bad press, and Glidden would have to defend their name. Does this mean Glidden has a bad product? No!This is exactly what the companies fear in the policies and procedures, not that you will paint peoples homes blue, but they have to care about what you do and say. It is their reputation, not yours. Now, Joe could be a painter, and he was trying to boost his business because Glidden had the best paint. But who had to defend themselves. Now, magnify this to the number of representatives in your networking company. One bad apple in a basket, can spoil the whole basket. Now, it your in the same company, do you want to be responsible to what all the others do? Of course not. When you became a distributor, you have become an independent distributor or business providing products to your customers. Who are your customers getting the product from? Your business and no one else. What happens if you are marketing products and you find a better supplier? Will you say you are with company ABC now, instead of XYZ? No. You are still your own business. Just like Walmart, they distribute many companies products, but when you are a customer, who are you a customer of? You are a customer of Walmart.So, can you advertise you? Yes. Can you advertise the benefits of the products you sell? Yes. Can you use the company name? NO! Can you use your business name? Yes! This is one of the biggest secret tools that most networkers do not get, is the tool of positioning. You need to position your business and provide to your customers the benefits that they get by coming through you. If you do excellent business, people will be attracted to you. If you do bad business, yes the people will come after you.Now, beyond positioning you need to know how to position yourself with the products. I could go into several articles on this, but sometimes, it is better to be trained and an education on how to build a business.
