Someone asked me a great question last week. When she found out that I had only about 2 years of experience in MLM, she wanted to know "why are you qualified to mentor me?" An image immediately popped into my head. Rather than try to describe it, go to YouTube and search for "The Bear" by Jean Jacques Annaud. When you watch this you'll get the idea. I might be a cub in MLM but I have a great team backing me up. What makes a great mentoring team?Two things:Experience in the industry
A mix of all 4 personality typesThe old saying "there is no substitute for experience" is really true. You don't want to take advice from someone unless they have already achieved what you want! A few weeks ago, I was attending a chamber mixer and some guy who has never even been in MLM started trying to give me advice (without knowing my experience level either!) His advice was totally opposite to what my mentors teach. He was also trying to sell me a $300 advertisement space in a magazine, which is not really appropriate for my business.I choose to be mentored by people who have 20-30 years of success in MLM and are working from home full-time. They truly have what I desire - complete time and financial freedom.Once you understand the personality types, you want to work with all types on your team because they each have different strengths. When I want to do a 3-way call to introduce someone I am mentoring to a more experienced coach, I determine the coach I want by the personality type of the person being mentored as well as the topic we need to discuss. Making the best match ensures good communication and a good outcome.When it comes to mentoring for myself, I would never want to be exclusively mentored by just one person. Since I am a green, another green might not be the best person to spot my self development needs. We usually need someone with a different perspective to help us grow. But when it comes to crunching numbers, like understanding a compensation plan, greens excel. And another green would understand why certain marketing methods are uncomfortable for me and could suggest solutions. But, when I am trying to learn a new technical skill I will not always work with a green. They may know very well how to do what I need, but they tend to be impatient.I am sure at some time you have talked to someone you knew had the knowledge to help you, but the two of you just didn't "click." That is why it is so important to have a whole group of people you can call on. Someone always has the answer!

What is ACN and What Can You Tell Me About It?

ACN is American Communication Network and it offers local home phone services, VOIP (voice over Intenet Protocol) and long distance phone service. Now, in order to get set up on the service, you must go through an independent representative.The GoodNow, the national spokesman is Donald Trump, and it was featured on the TV Show "The Apprentice". Their main hook is a product of a video phone where you can see the person you are talking to. Now, this is unlike any other telecomunication company, because it allows a sales force to sell the product and services verses an internal staff making the money for the parent company as employees. The company is solid and have been on the seen for several years.The BadI think that the major issue here is that the phone companies had to get real aggressive with phone rates. And in order for the video side of the services to work, both sides need a video phone. Are we really ready to be called first thing in the morning and to have people see us as we wake up? Now, one reason that people struggle in ACN, is that they are unsure how to market the products. In their extensive policy and procedures, it says that you can not market to cold-market or people you do not know and this will likely be the people you want to market to.ConclusionWell, yes, there is good and bad with ACN. The choice will always be yours. Now, if you decide to market this product and this company, you need to learn how to market the business. What you need to know is that you can market to people you do not know. I am not saying to ignore the policy and procedures, but you have to market yoru business and not ACN. Now, if your business is a telecommunication services, you may choose your suppliers and you choose the suppliers that can provide the best products to your customers. This is the only way to get it to work. You need to also know how to target your market, because, in the theory that ACN wants you to use, you must only talk to those you know. Now, this is not an effective way to market your business, because I will have to admit, some of your friends and family will not qualify to become your customers. Now, once you get over the hurdles that ACN has you believing, you will have to compete up against the Big Bells or giants in telecommunication services. Find someone that understands how to market and those that will unravel the issues and see if you can get those people to assist you. Now, the choice is yours, and which ever you make either as a new rep to ACN or not, both will be making the right decision.

Just Being an Employee Will Not Make You Rich

"No one gets rich just by being an employee." Have you ever heard that phrase? Well, that is true in the case for most of us. We have our daily routine in the morning then off to work. Do our job then spend six hours or more there then go back home. And then we are now tired and no longer have the energy to do whatever we want. And keep doing this again and again for an unbelievable half of our life and remarkably some do for their whole lifetime. Well, these people learned to be smart and discover to earn in some other way instead of enslaving themselves to other people. To lessen their work, they learned to utilize the benefit of the latest technology. The opportunity to do things but with lesser work has been learned that Internet could provide it to them. They learned that they could use the Internet to supplement their income and they are happy they do.These individual are also known as Internet enthusiasts. They are happy for the benefit the online world could provide. In exchange for money, they happily provide value, products, services and time. Nowadays it is now common to buy things you need online. And in a nutshell, making money online is simple but a lot of people complicate it. But use your common sense and don't fall for get rich quick scheme. Find one that works, focused on it and eventually you will succeed.

This online income business is growing at a massive rate. As the internet grows so do online income opportunities. Is it a worthwhile exercise to get involved? Why can't we get a share of all that cash that is being generated?This has to be one of the largest industries about at the moment. Have you seen all the promotional stuff out there? You only have to do a search in Google for on line income and see all the different methods being pushed. And of course there is dozens every day arriving in your email inbox.If you decide to have a look at it with the hope of maybe making some money online, then you are bombarded with many offers, all costing money to get in. You can find free training online but it does take a lot of searching to track down the good stuff. You could pay for training at sites like Wealthy Affiliate University and learn it all that way. But it could take a long time as there is so much to know. Then if you want to get right into the technical stuff you could learn how to build a website and how to generate traffic to it and how to make sales from it.Each topic is an area all of it's own and each has so much to learn. You could get into pay per click advertising, CPA promotion, contextual advertising, affiliate marketing, ezine marketing as well as website building and search engine optimization. You pretty much need a degree in each of these areas to get going on a profitable level.Sounds pretty complex. There are people who will sell you something all set up and ready to go but some of these have limited results. Even if you have something up and running you will still need to maintain it. You will still have to generate traffic and maintain your rankings in the search engines so there is not really a free ride. Not much you can do but settle down to some heavy study. Learn all you can and choose an area the appeals to you and study that area in detail.Once you have learned you can put it into practice and start getting your feet wet. Be prepared to spend some cash testing your learning till you get it right. That might be family, location, interests, hobbies, or whatever. If you have nothing to talk about except business, your relationship will never grow into something either of you values, and certainly will produce no loyalty on either side.You want to be successful? Find the right person who is doing the right business for you, who has time for you and a system you can use to build your business and help the people you bring in also.

Are there really any secrets or magic bullets for success in MLM?On a training call earlier this week, my mastermind group was discussing persistence. Here is the experience one associate shared:****Early in my network marketing career I was easily derailed. I spent thousands of dollars on buying so called MLM gurus' next "Biggest Secret" that only the top 1% knew. I was looking for a magic bullet that would be my breakthrough to success.I could feel the magic buzz of being where I wanted to be as the credit card transaction took place for that course that would give me the million dollar answer, that quantum leap. I could see myself being able to sponsor 10 new recruits a month into my deal just because I bought a heavy hitter's training CD on how to do it.But those training courses didn't solve my problems, they only brought up new questions that the next, more expensive course promised to answer. I realized the pattern I was getting into.****His story echos my story, and also that of MANY others. I lost 40 pounds 11 years ago. How did I do it? Eat less, move more. The concept is simple; the execution of it is far less so. No quick fix, no magic bullet.The concept for success that really works in network marketing is relationship building. It's an easy concept to understand since we have all been building relationships our entire lives. The problem is that once we are in a business, we want to "get in the black" fast. So we approach people with that agenda in mind instead of just approaching them as a new friend.In the past I was taught, "you can't say the right thing to the wrong person, or the wrong thing to the right person." If you say the wrong thing you WILL be defeated in the end, because even if the person joins you they are likely to quit because they can't duplicate what you are doing.And about those magic systems promising to build your downline on autopilot? Anyone who would join you that way, is a "grass is always greener" person, always looking for the next great deal.
