Improving people's lives with the products I marketIn the MLM industry more than any other, I feel it is really true that you can succeed by helping others. If your customers love your products, they order more and you make money. If your team members make money, you make money. If you taught them how to do that (as opposed to doing it for them), you are a leader.In my 20 years of work in corporate America, I never really felt like I was helping other people. Of course I was paid to help companies succeed. But I could never see how my actions had a direct impact on the company's bottom line or their reputation. I'm sure this is why people choose to own their own business. You can control your destiny and see and feel the results of your work! But how many small business owners can help others become financially free in addition to offering great products or services?I have said that success is a decision. Not only do you need to decide to succeed, you need to decide what success means to you. No matter how much money I make, that by itself will not define success for me. I need to know I earned it by helping others. If you make money by taking advantage of others, I do not consider that success. Some people do, I am sure. For some, success is only about the money.I want to attract success as a result of who I become, as Jim Rohn said. And my mentor, Michael Dlouhy, says "if you want more you must become more." If you are with me on this, what type of person do we need to become and how do we do that?I believe, as Napoleon Hill teaches in "Think And Grow Rich," that you find a mastermind group of people who have success as you define it. Then you ask them to mentor you. People who have the type of success I want are happy to help others. They do not withhold their wisdom when they could be helping.
