Attraction Marketing 101
Are you sick of chasing prospects? Well, if this is the case, let me show you another way. It's called attraction marketing. What is attraction marketing? It is marketing ourselves in a way that draws people to us, which is the converse of what most marketers normally do. Most marketers are too busy making a pitch about their wonderful product, and in doing so, simply put up a wall between them and their prospect.So how does this work? In essence, it means putting yourself between the prospect and your product or service. It means taking time to build trust with your prospect, being seen to be a person with whom your prospects can relate to - a person with credibility. You need to be seen as a person who is able to offer your prospects value. In other words, 'we become the hunted rather than the hunted.'This is a huge paradigm shift when it comes to trying to get people to buy our products and services. No more chasing prospects; they begin to chase us! Wouldn't that be a nice change?As Zig Ziglar has said; "The key to getting what you want is to help as many people as you can to get what they want." That statement is the key to understanding what 'attraction marketing' is all about.The internet provides us with a great opportunity to apply this marketing model - attraction marketing and there are several ways in which this can be done.Firstly by offering our prospects something for free - something that they will find useful, but also something that aligns with our business so that they gain a small taste of what we have to offer. This creates confidence and trust in us with our prospects. It also creates a degree of curiosity for the 'main thing' that we are marketing and as a result, is more likely to cause them to opt in to our capture page in order to discover what else we have to offer that could help them.Another way of putting ourselves between our prospects and our products or services is to personally introduce ourselves to our prospects. How do we do this on-line? One of the best ways we can do this is to provide a short video clip for them to watch that portrays who we are, a little about our 'story' and perhaps something about our business. This allows our prospects to decide if we are the type of person that they can relate to and do business with.This model is one that certainly works in today's increasingly sceptical world - one where people are hungry for relationships and for doing business with people whom they can trust.
