Working from home is the dream job for most people. I am sitting here working from home as we speak, and I love it and it has become very prosperous for me. However, I had to crawl before I walked, and I fell down a few times. This article is to help people from the pitfalls of working from home.1) FIND THE RIGHT JOB AND STICK WITH ITPart of the problem nowadays is that many people who want to work from home are always looking for the next best thing that is going to make them more money. Research, Research, Research. Just because something might be good for me, doesn't mean it will be good for you. Some people can be talked into the next best thing every day. Do not let that be you. Find out what the product being offered is. See what sort of fees are involved, and research the need in the marketplace for the product and what it takes for you to earn the money back you put in. Make sure you find something that interests you and that you would actually ENJOY doing. No point in working from home if you do not enjoy what you are doing. It ruins the perk of working from home.2) KEEP A ROUTINEPeople who start to work from home easily fall into the trap of sleeping a bit later, putting things off a bit, etc, etc. The key with working from home is to treat it like you are going into an office, whether that office is 30 minutes away or in your basement, having a start time and sticking to it is key. Take the same lunch time everyday. Walk away when you feel distracted and get a drink of water. Always keep yourself focused. Easier said than done, I know. But I emphasize keeping a routine. Being successful in a MLM means you might only have to work 8 hours a day for the first 120 days, and then 6 hours a day after that. To each their own. Always make sure to keep a schedule and do your best to stick to it!! The harder one works from home and keeps to a routine, the more successful one will be and the more of a privilege working from home becomes.3) NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR HOME NUMBER OR HOME ADDRESSPeople are always surprised by this one. This isn't so much for a MLM, but for a home based business in general, this is a step to not take lightly. I learned the hard way. If people know where you live, they can make surprise visits, or even call your home phone at all hours, including weekends. Time typically spent with the family. Install a business line or get a work cell phone. I always tell people this, it will save you time and aggravation!4) DO NOT BECOME TOO ISOLATEDWorking from home does not mean that you have to become a hermit. Take your lunch to the park one day, go out for a walk. Human contact sometimes seems to get lost when people work from home. Sure you might talk to people over the phone or email, but make sure to get out and have some face to face interaction. If you don't, you might get stir crazy and not enjoy the working from home experience as much. Working from home is a luxury!
