Xango - Is Xango a Legitimate Company Or Just a "Juice Fad"

Xango, LLC is a privately owned international network marketing company based in Lehi, Utah. The company markets and distributes a beverage and dietary supplement, XanGo® Juice, a blended juice product consisting of mangosteen and other juices. It also has just started with a line of skin care, personal care, energy supplement and nutritional supplement products formulated with botanical ingredients.Let's take an unbiased look behind the scenes, concentrating on the main product, to see if this is a viable business opportunity, of just another one of those "juice fads"The Good:With all the headlines of the local newspapers focusing on the health insurance industry, products that promote a healthy living are being looked at very carefully. The company's name is derived from Xanthones and Mangosteen, both of which are known to be in a very powerful class of antioxidants. The Mangosteen fruit has been used in South East Asia for years in native folk medicine, treating many health conditions.XanGo notes on its web sites that it currently operates in more than 20 international markets with over 1 million independent distributors. Any company with an international distribution, in today's global marketplace, is certainly attractive. While the company is privately held, (so we can't confirm the sales numbers), we can take a look at the "people in charge. The #1 man is Gary Hollister, one of XanGo, LLCs six founding members and CEO from XanGo's launch in 2002 to 2006. Currently he is serving as Board Chairman Emeritus.Hollister along with XanGo partner, Aaron Garrity, were named a national finalist in the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards. With this kind of product, and these types of people in charge, Xango seems to have real potential. The Bad:The strength of this product may also be its downfall. While not being able to comment, as a doctor on the benefits of these, antioxidants, one has to look at the current economic condition around the world. In a "recession", most people have to give up something, and your favorite "feel good juice" may be the first to go.Also, Xango's marketing plan is very antiquated. They teach organizing home parties, doing presentations and recruiting friends and family to come over and buy your product.Every good marketed knows building a 6 figure income on the backs of your friends and family is a hopeless cause. In Conclusion:If you use this product, and have true testimonial on its benefits, you may have some chance at a successful business venture, but only if you get some professional marketing help. Position yourself out in the internet, and get in front of millions of people every hour that have a need, want, and desire for this product.Without the internet, and a good skill set, I would think the possibility for success is slim.
